The process whereby nicotinamide mononucleotide is transported from one side of a membrane to the other. Nicotinamide mononucleotide is a ribonucleotide in which the nitrogenous base, nicotinamide, is in beta-n-glycosidic linkage with the c-1 position of d-ribose. It is a constituent of NAD and NADP. The directed movement of a cofactor into, out of, within or between cells by means of some external agent such as a transporter or pore. A cofactor is a substance that is required for the activity of an enzyme or other protein. The directed movement of substances (such as macromolecules, small molecules, ions) into, out of, within or between cells, or within a multicellular organism by means of some external agent such as a transporter or pore. The directed movement of nicotinamide mononucleotide into, out of, within or between cells by means of some external agent such as a transporter or pore. Nicotinamide mononucleotide is a ribonucleotide in which the nitrogenous base, nicotinamide, is in beta-n-glycosidic linkage with the c-1 position of D-ribose. It is a constituent of NAD and NADP. The directed movement of a nucleotide, any compound consisting of a nucleoside that is esterified with (ortho)phosphate, into, out of or within a cell. The directed movement of nucleobases, nucleosides, nucleotides and nucleic acids, into, out of, within or between cells by means of some external agent such as a transporter or pore.
