Any series of molecular signals that conveys information from the endoplasmic reticulum to the nucleus, usually resulting in a change in transcriptional regulation. A series of molecular signals from the endoplasmic reticulum to the nucleus generated as a consequence of altered levels of one or more lipids, and resulting in the activation of transcription by SREBP. The series of molecular signals generated by the accumulation of normal or misfolded proteins in the endoplasmic reticulum and leading to activation of transcription by NF-kappaB. The series of molecular events whereby information is sent from one location to another within a living organism or between living organisms. The series of molecular events whereby information is sent from one location to another within a cell. The series of molecular signals generated as a consequence of the presence of unfolded proteins in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) or other ER-related stress; results in changes in the regulation of transcription and translation.
