Catalysis of an oxidation-reduction (redox) reaction in which NADH or NADPH acts as a hydrogen or electron donor and reduces NAD+ or NADP. Catalysis of the transfer of a solute or solutes from one side of a membrane to the other according to the reaction: NADPH + H+ + NAD+ = NADP+ + NADH + H+. The reaction is B-specific (i.e. the pro-S hydrogen is transferred from the 4-position of reduced nicotinamide cofactor) with respect to both NAD+ and NADP+. Catalysis of the transfer of hydrogen ions from one side of a membrane to the other. Catalysis of the transfer of a inorganic cations with a valency of one from one side of a membrane to the other. Inorganic cations are atoms or small molecules with a positive charge that do not contain carbon in covalent linkage. Catalysis of the reaction: NADPH + H+ + NAD+ = NADP+ + NADH + H+.
