The process whereby B cells acquire the specialized features of B-1b B cells. B-1b B cells are B-1 cells that do not express CD5. The process by which an immature B cell becomes committed to become a B-1 B cell. Any process that stops, prevents, or reduces the rate of B-1 B cell differentiation.
