Any process that activates or increases the frequency, rate or extent of cell death by apoptosis. The morphological and physiological alterations undergone by mitochondria during apoptosis. The process by which a protein is incorporated into a mitochondrial membrane. The process by which a protein is incorporated into a biological membrane. The process by which a protein is incorporated into a mitochondrial membrane as an early step in apoptosis. A form of programmed cell death that begins when a cell receives internal or external signals that trigger the activity of proteolytic caspases, proceeds through a series of characteristic stages typically including rounding-up of the cell, retraction of pseudopodes, reduction of cellular volume (pyknosis), chromatin condensation, nuclear fragmentation (karyorrhexis), and plasma membrane blebbing (but maintenance of its integrity until the final stages of the process), and ends with the death of the cell. A process that is carried out at the cellular level which results in the assembly, arrangement of constituent parts, or disassembly of a mitochondrial membrane, either of the lipid bilayer surrounding a mitochondrion. A process that directly activates any of the steps required for cell death by apoptosis. A process that is carried out at the cellular level which results in the assembly, arrangement of constituent parts, or disassembly of a mitochondrion; includes mitochondrial morphogenesis and distribution, and replication of the mitochondrial genome as well as synthesis of new mitochondrial components. A process which directly activates any of the steps required for programmed cell death.
