The process by which calcium salts are deposited into calcareous tooth structures such as dental enamel, dentine and cementum. The process by which calcium salts, mainly carbonated hydroxyapatite, are deposited into the initial acellular cementum. The process whose specific outcome is the progression of a tooth or teeth over time, from formation to the mature structure(s). A tooth is any hard bony, calcareous, or chitinous organ found in the mouth or pharynx of an animal and used in procuring or masticating food. Formation of hard tissues that consist mainly of inorganic compounds, and also contain a small amounts of organic matrices that are believed to play important roles in their formation.
