A chromosome involved in sex determination. A protein or protein-RNA complex that localizes to one or more of the sex chromosome(s), where it acts to normalize transcription between different sexes. A structure composed of a very long molecule of DNA and associated proteins (e.g. histones) that carries hereditary information.
