Any viral process that inhibits the termination of host cell protein biosynthesis that occurs in response to viral infection. Any process by which a symbiont organism modulates the frequency, rate or extent of a cellular process, any process that is carried out at the cellular level, but not necessarily restricted to a single cell, in its host organism. The process in which a virus effects a change in the cellular pathways and activities of its host organism. Interactions, directly with the host cell macromolecular machinery, to allow virus replication. Any process, either active or passive, by which a virus avoids or tolerates the effects of its host organism's defense(s). Host defenses may be induced by the presence of the virus or may be preformed (e.g. physical barriers). The host is defined as the larger of the organisms involved in a symbiotic interaction.
