A triglyceride-rich lipoprotein particle that is typically composed of APOB100, APOE and APOCs and has a density of about 1.006 g/ml and a diameter of between 20-80 nm. It is found in blood and transports endogenous products (newly synthesized cholesterol and triglycerides) from the liver. A plasma lipoprotein particle that has a hydrophobic core enriched in triglycerides surrounded by an amphipathic monolayer of phospholipids, cholesterol and apolipoproteins. Triglyceride-rich lipoproteinparticles transport lipids, which are non-covalently associated with the particles, in the blood. A macromolecular complex containing both protein and lipid molecules. Plasma lipoprotein particles transport lipids, which are non-covalently associated with the particles, in the blood or lymph. That part of a multicellular organism outside the cells proper, usually taken to be outside the plasma membranes, and occupied by fluid. For cells without external protective or external encapsulating structures this refers to space outside of the plasma membrane.
