Catalysis of the reaction: red chlorophyll catabolite (RCC) + reduced ferredoxin + 2 H+ = primary fluorescent catabolite (pFCC) + oxidized ferredoxin. This reaction is the reduction of the C20/C1 double bond in the pyrrole system of red chlorophyll catabolite to a colorless tetrapyrrole with a strong blue fluorescence. Catalysis of an oxidation-reduction (redox) reaction in which a CH-CH group acts as a hydrogen or electron donor and reduces a hydrogen or electron acceptor. Catalysis of an oxidation-reduction (redox) reaction in which a CH-CH group acts as a hydrogen or electron donor and reduces an iron-sulfur protein.
