Any process that modulates the frequency, rate, or extent of a homeostatic process. The directed movement of calcium ions (Ca2+) into the cytosol. The process by which calcium ions sequestered in the endoplasmic reticulum or mitochondria are released into the cytosolic compartment. Any process that modulates the rate of the directed movement of calcium ions into the cytosol of a cell. The cytosol is that part of the cytoplasm that does not contain membranous or particulate subcellular components. Any process that modulates the rate, frequency or extent of release of sequestered calcium ion into cytosol by the sarcoplasmic reticulum, the process whereby the release of sequestered calcium ion by sarcoplasmic reticulum into cytosol occurs via calcium release channels. Any process that modulates the frequency, rate or extent of a cellular process, any of those that are carried out at the cellular level, but are not necessarily restricted to a single cell. For example, cell communication occurs among more than one cell, but occurs at the cellular level. Any process that modulates the frequency, rate or extent of the release into the cytosolic compartment of calcium ions sequestered in the endoplasmic reticulum or mitochondria. Any process that modulates the frequency, rate or extent of the directed movement of calcium ions into, out of, within or between cells by means of some external agent such as a transporter or pore. Any process that stops, prevents or reduces the frequency, rate or extent of the release into the cytosolic compartment of calcium ions sequestered in the endoplasmic reticulum or mitochondria. Any process that activates or increases the frequency, rate or extent of the release into the cytosolic compartment of calcium ions sequestered in the endoplasmic reticulum or mitochondria. Any process that stops, prevents or reduces the frequency, rate or extent of the binding or confining calcium ions such that they are separated from other components of a biological system.
