The process whose specific outcome is the progression of the bristle over time, from its formation to the mature structure. A bristle is an insect sensory organ. Coordinated organization of groups of cells in the plane of an epithelium, such that they all orient to similar coordinates. Orientation of hairs or sensory bristles that cover the body surface of an adult, such that they all point in a uniform direction along the plane of the epithelium from which they project. The process by which the anatomical structures of the bristle are generated and organized. Morphogenesis pertains to the creation of form. Morphogenesis of an organ. An organ is defined as a tissue or set of tissues that work together to perform a specific function or functions. Morphogenesis is the process by which anatomical structures are generated and organized. Organs are commonly observed as visibly distinct structures, but may also exist as loosely associated clusters of cells that work together to perform a specific function or functions. Orientation along the body surface of bristles, sensory organs originating from a sensory organ precursor cell, such that they all point in a uniform direction.
