Descriptions Names[Advanced Search]

Any macromolecular complex composed of two or more polypeptide subunits, which may or may not be identical. Protein complexes may have other associated non-protein prosthetic groups, such as nucleotides, metal ions or other small molecules. Any complex that possesses RNA polymerase activity; generally comprises a catalytic subunit and one or more additional subunits. A virus-specific protein complex that possesses RNA-dependent RNA polymerase activity and replicates the genome of an RNA virus. A complex required for RNAi mediated heterochromatin assembly. In S. pombe this contains RNA-directed RNA polymerase, a putative helicase and a protein containing a pap25 associated domain. Any constituent part of the living contents of a cell; the matter contained within (but not including) the plasma membrane, usually taken to exclude large vacuoles and masses of secretory or ingested material. In eukaryotes it includes the nucleus and cytoplasm. A protein complex that possesses RNA-directed RNA polymerase activity.
