Descriptions Names[Advanced Search]

A macromolecular complex containing both protein and DNA molecules. Any constituent part of the nucleus, a membrane-bounded organelle of eukaryotic cells in which chromosomes are housed and replicated. A stable assembly of two or more macromolecules, i.e. proteins, nucleic acids, carbohydrates or lipids, in which the constituent parts function together. A protein-DNA complex assembled at eukaryotic DNA replication origins during late mitosis and G1, allowing the origin to become competent, or 'licensed', for replication. The complex normally includes the origin recognition complex (ORC), Cdc6, Cdt1 and the MiniChromosome Maintenance (Mcm2-7) proteins. That part of the nuclear content other than the chromosomes or the nucleolus. Any constituent part of the nucleoplasm, that part of the nuclear content other than the chromosomes or the nucleolus.
