A proteasome complex found in the cytosol of a cell. Any constituent part of cytosol, that part of the cytoplasm that does not contain membranous or particulate subcellular components. Any macromolecular complex composed of two or more polypeptide subunits, which may or may not be identical. Protein complexes may have other associated non-protein prosthetic groups, such as nucleotides, metal ions or other small molecules. Any constituent part of the cytoplasm, all of the contents of a cell excluding the plasma membrane and nucleus, but including other subcellular structures. A multisubunit barrel shaped endoprotease complex, which is the core of the proteasome complex. The proteasome core subcomplex that constitutes the two outer rings of the proteasome core complex. An example of this component is found in Mus musculus. The core complex of a proteasome located in the cytosol of a cell. Any constituent part of the living contents of a cell; the matter contained within (but not including) the plasma membrane, usually taken to exclude large vacuoles and masses of secretory or ingested material. In eukaryotes it includes the nucleus and cytoplasm. The part of the cytoplasm that does not contain organelles but which does contain other particulate matter, such as protein complexes. The proteasome core subcomplex that constitutes the two outer rings of the cytosolic proteasome core complex.
