Either of the lipid bilayers that surround a plastid and form the plastid envelope. Any constituent part of a chloroplast, a chlorophyll-containing plastid with thylakoids organized into grana and frets, or stroma thylakoids, and embedded in a stroma. The inner, i.e. lumen-facing, lipid bilayer of the chloroplast envelope; also faces the chloroplast stroma. Located such that some or all of the gene product itself penetrates at least one phospholipid bilayer of the chloroplast inner membrane. May also refer to the state of being buried in the bilayer with no exposure outside the bilayer. Either of the lipid bilayers that surround a chloroplast and form the chloroplast envelope.
